Through active peer mentorship and structured training seminars, we aim to enrich our members about the capital markets while creating quality equity research.
Our Story
When we realized how few opportunities there were for students to apply their academic learning and be recognized for their talent, we took it upon ourselves to change the situation. WestPeak Research Association was started in the hopes of bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace. Through peer mentorship and professional seminars, we seek to prepare our members with the necessary skills required for success in the capital markets industry.
Our team is composed of students from different academic backgrounds. The only common traits we look for are interest, integrity, and curiosity. Passion for a career in the capital markets industry often manifests itself in a variety of ways - our members often refer to a "spark" which first drew their attention. WestPeak is here to cultivate that spark and provide an environment of like minded individuals who seek to grow together.
WestPeak was founded on September 1, 2014 and became incorporated under the British Columbia Society Act on October 23, 2014.

Our Strategy
Learning both inside and outside the classroom allows our members to develop skills crucial to success in the capital markets with a hands-on approach and build a strong network.
Learning Together
Every Wednesday, WestPeak members gather for training seminars, guest speaker sessions, and peer mentorship. These meetings provide a space for members to support, encourage and inspire each other, building confidence and enhancing career skills. WestPeak Wednesdays are the heart of our community’s collaborative spirit.
Building Community
Beyond the classroom, WestPeak strengthens its community through social events that foster lasting friendships. We build a strong, supportive network, enhancing both personal and professional relationships within the club.
Excelling Collectively
WestPeak members actively participate in competitions together, such as stock pitch challenges and case competitions. There, they can apply their knowledge, work on a team, and build presentation skills, while cultivating camaraderie in the club.
Embracing Inclusivity
In a male-dominated field, WestPeak strives to provide the skills and knowledge neccessary to women for success within the capital markets. We aim to create an welcoming and inclusive environment through events such as socials and the WP x YWiB Stock Pitch.
